Big Brother Australia will return in 2025 after being cancelled in 2024, and it’s getting a total makeover!
During the September 16 Upfronts, it was revealed that Big Brother would return to its OG network, Channel 10, after airing on Seven for the past four years.
But that’s not the only change! After fans complained that Big Brother barely resembled the show they once loved, the network promised that the series would return to “the authentic, OG show you fell in love with all those years ago”.
Filming will take place in a new house, and the series will return to its live format, which means fans can watch evictions and nominations in all their nail-biting glory! Yaas!
It comes after the show faced “disastrous ratings” after the horrendous 2023 series, with many fans calling for it to return to its OG format.
Big Brother Australia 2025 will feature a brand-new host
Channel 10 also announced that Mel Tracina would replace Sonia Kruger as the show’s host.
The TV personality is best known for being the cultural correspondent on The Cheap Seats. She’s also a podcaster, radio host and actress.
“I was one of the millions of Aussies captivated by Big Brother when it launched on Channel 10 in the early noughties,” she said in a statement.
“The show has such a loyal and passionate fan base. I’m excited to help bring back the show’s original spirit (minus the flip phones and bum dancing).” Yaas!
