Big Brother Australia 2025 will welcome a new host, Mel Tracina, and here’s everything we know about her!
During the September 16 Channel Ten Upfronts, it was revealed that Big Brother would return to its OG network after airing on Seven for the past four years. It was also announced that Mel would replace Sonia Kruger as the show’s host.
Mel has been tipped to bring something “unique” to the series. Not only that, but an insider has told Yahoo Lifestyle that she’ll stand by the women in the house.
“Her sense of humour, support of women, and not being afraid to take men to task will echo what [OG host] Gretel Killeen did with the format,” they dished. Woohoo!
As a fan of Big Brother herself, Mel is “excited to bring back the show’s original spirit”. But what else do we know about her?
Who is Big Brother‘s new host Mel Tracina?
Mel is best known for being the cultural correspondent on The Cheap Seats. You may also recognise her as one of the guest panellists on the quiz show Have You Been Paying Attention?.
However, the 35-year-old wears many more hats! She’s also an actress, a radio presenter and the co-host of the podcast Social JustUs, where she discusses issues of social injustice from around the globe.
Not only that, but she’s also written and produced shows for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. And is there anything she can’t do?
Mel’s also obsessed with trashy reality shows (like us). On November 18, she told TV WEEK that she’s currently watching Love Island Australia, Aussie Shore and Dating Naked UK.
Despite marrying her long-term bae Stefan in October 2016, the Melbourne-based TV personality confessed she’d love to “make a cheeky cameo” on Married at First Sight. And we’re kinda obsessed with her!
