Big Brother Australia host Mel Tracina has revealed the huge twist that’s set to shake up the 2025 season, and we’ve ALL been waiting for this.
After fans complained that the newer renditions of Big Brother barely resembled the show they once loved, the network promised that the series would return to “the authentic, OG show you fell in love with all those years ago”.
As such, the show will return to its live format (YAY). Sonia Kruger has also been replaced with new host, Mel, who’s set to “echo” what OG host Gretel Killeen did with the format.”

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Mel revealed that there would be a live stream where fans can watch contestants 24/7. Yasssss!
“You don’t have to worry about getting a bad edit, or being the ‘season villain’, because viewers can log in at any time and see what the [housemates] are up to,” she dished.
And that’s the authenticity we always wanted!
It comes after Big Brother was canned in 2024 after fans (and contestants) slammed the 2023 season, calling it a “horrible” Love Island knock-off. Ouch.
