So Dramatic!

There’s already MAJOR drama swirling around The Block 2024 auctions so chuck on your OHS gear

the block 2024 auction

Although the Block 2024 auctions are still weeks away, drama is already swirling in the lead-up to the renovation show’s grand finale.

The auctions are notorious for drawing in big spenders. In recent years, multi-millionaires Adrian Portelli and Danny Wallis have flashed their dollars to snap up the sought-after properties.

And this year is going to be no different!

Adrian, founder of giveaway business LMCT+, reportedly “has his sights set on buying every single property” this year.

However, if the Buyer’s Jury event during the October 9 episode of The Block is anything to go by, Danny isn’t letting Adrian have the last laugh.

When the LMCT+ big gun revealed he had his sights set on Mimi and Kristian Belperio‘s build, Danny also agreed it was the best option of the five houses.

Mystery buyers pegged to take down Danny Wallis and Adrian Portelli at The Block 2024 auctions

This year, newcomer bidders are hoping to oust Danny and Adrian from dominating The Block 2024 auctions.

Per Domain, Melbourne business owners Tom Omerod and Ollie Howard have revealed their intention to buy at least one of the Phillip Island homes.

The duo are the founders of Paradoor, a business that owns holiday homes in iconic locations in Queensland, NSW and Victoria.

However, Tom and Ollie won’t be buying The Block homes for themselves. Instead, they will represent a group of buyers, per the Paradoor website scheme.

What is the Paradoor purchasing scheme for The Block 2024?

According to the website, people can purchase a 1/8 share of a bid for “just $350,000”.

If the Paradoor bid is successful, up to eight families will get access to the Phillip Island property for up to 44 nights a year.

“By reducing the cost to circa $350,000 for eight owners, we hope to make The Block accessible to the fans so that it’s not dominated by the super-rich,” Tom told Domain on Tuesday.

“It’s time to bring The Block back to the people. For too long, it’s been for the billionaires’ club.”

Bring it on, we say!

Who is tipped to win The Block 2024?

While nothing is guaranteed until the auctioneer yells “SOLD” on auction day, one telling move could hint at which The Block 2024 team will win this year.

The Domain Listing challenge saw Danny and Adrian (along with 98 other potential buyers) check out this year’s renovations before voting for their favourite.

Lo and behold, Mimi and Kristian won the votes of the serial bidders, which is a good sign they’re going to earn a pretty penny at the grand final!
