Love Island Australia 2023‘s Georgia Murray and Nate Page have been criticised for sharing an “ableist” Instagram post.
On September 30, Georgia shared a series of snaps with Nate. However, the photos were edited so he appeared half his size.
“It’s not the size that matters,” she wrote in the caption.

Many of her co-stars, including Reid Polak and Abby Miller, as well as Married at First Sight stars Selina Chhaur and Al Perkins, commented underneath the post, finding it hilarious.
However, others called the former Islanders out.
“This is offensive to actual little people; shame on you,” one person wrote.
Another penned: “Ableism.”

What is ableism?
According to the Center for Disability Rights, ableism is “a set of beliefs or practices that devalue and discriminate against people with physical, intellectual, or psychiatric disabilities”.
It also assumes that disabled people need to be “fixed”. And mocking people with a disability is considered ableism.
Love Island‘s Georgia Murray and Nate Page DOUBLE DOWN on ‘ABLEIST’ post
Despite being urged to take it down, the couple have doubled down on their “ableist” post.
Nate took to the comments section to slam naysayers, writing: “This is an absurd post. Georgia’s one of the most genuine people with an amazing heart. If you know her, you can talk. If not, keep talking; let’s hear it.”
Another one of Georgia’s friends jumped to her defence, claiming the Love Island star “didn’t know” her post was offensive and meant no harm by it. Despite this, she has yet to delete her post at the time of writing.
One spy even said they “politely explained” to Georgia why her post was “disrespectful and discriminatory towards people with disabilities”. However, their comment was “deleted within minutes”.
Several others who pointed out the “offensive” nature of her post claimed the same thing happened to them.
