Married at First Sight Australia 2022‘s Domenica Calarco has revealed the surprising way she met her new boyfriend, Jarod Bogunovich.
After a whirlwind of a year, the former TV bride hard-launched her relo with the Bondi-based skater on September 22.
Shortly after, she confirmed to 9Entertainment that she was the “happiest she’d ever been“ and spilled on her plans to marry him.
The former podcast host took to Instagram on October 8 to share how her love story with her new man began, alongside a clip of them skating together.
“JB and I were just friends. Boxing and coffee buddies,” she explained in the captions.
However, when she entered a mental health facility for 21 days, he “visited [her] in the hospital every week, brought [her] snacks” and boxed with her so she could maintain her fitness.
“Five months later, I’m one less lonely girl and have my very own JB,” she penned, referencing the hit Justin Bieber track One Less Lonely Girl.
Elsewhere in the lengthy caption, Domenica seemed to hint that she’d “soon” tell all about her friendship breakup with Ella Ding.
“About six months ago, life as I knew it fell apart right before my eyes,” she said, presumably about the downfall of her Sit With Us podcast.
“I haven’t spoken in depth just yet about the state of my mental health at that time; it was dark (very soon 👀),” she wrote.

Speaking to Mamamia, Domenica confessed that her relationship with Jarod started several years ago.
“We met on Bumble (dating app) in 2021 and went on a date before I was cast for MAFS,” the 31-year-old dished.
However, the “timing wasn’t right”, and they went their “separate ways”.
“This year, as fate would have it, we met again at a boxing gym, Pad Flow, in Sydney. I decided to take up boxing for my fitness, and we reconnected; the universe works in amazing ways,” she gushed.
After spending the bulk of this year “working on [herself]“, Domenica finally felt ready to enter a healthy relationship where she could “put [herself] and [her] needs first”.
“I’ve met a man who isn’t intimidated or feels neglected, which is not only attractive, but it feels like it’s the first non-toxic relationship I’ve ever been in,” she said.
“I’m very happy. He makes me feel loved and special every day.” Aww!
