Married at First Sight Australia 2022‘s Domenica Calarco has shared a personal update after revealing she entered a ‘mental health facility’ and deleted social media following public backlash from her podcast.
In May, Domenica and Ella Ding interviewed controversial MAFS couple Jack Dunkley and Tori Adams on their Sit With Us podcast.
However, fans were shocked when the podcast hosts victim-blamed Lauren Dunn and defended some of the awful things Jack did on the show.
After issuing an apology, Domenica told her Instagram followers she was checking herself into a ‘mental health retreat‘ due to the anxiety she’d been experiencing “over the last month” before deleting her social media accounts.
On May 31, the former bride took to Instagram to share a mental health update.
“Over the past few weeks, I’ve been focusing on my mental health and seeking the help I need in a specialised mental health facility,” Domenica wrote.
“It hasn’t been an easy decision, but I know it’s the right one for my wellbeing.”
The 31-year-old then expressed her “deepest gratitude” to her fans and loved ones for their support throughout this “challenging time.”
“Please know that I’m taking the necessary steps to prioritise my mental health. I’m looking forward to returning to social media when I’m ready. In the meantime, I ask for your continued understanding and support,” she added.
“Thank you again for being such an incredible community. Your kindness doesn’t go unnoticed, and I am endlessly grateful.”
So Dramatic! has contracted Listnr and DM Podcasts but they did not respond.
