Survivor Australia is “struggling” to find producers to work on the upcoming 2025 season following reports of mistreatment and “toxic” culture on set.
Last year, one production insider told So Dramatic! that Survivor crew members were quitting because of “unsuitable living arrangements” and a “toxic workplace”.
As revealed in episode 406 of the So Dramatic! podcast, the hit reality show is still struggling to recruit crew.
A recent ad posted by Survivor‘s production company Endemol Shine claimed the show was searching for “experienced producers” to join the next season, which will be set in Samoa.
It comes after Yahoo! Lifestyle revealed that TWO seasons of the show will grace our screens in 2025.
One will be titled “Brains vs. Brawn II,” featuring “newbie players,” and the other is an “all-stars showdown” called “Australia vs. USA.”
What went down on the set of Survivor Australia last year?
As reported in episode 336 of the So Dramatic! podcast, there was “trouble in paradise” behind the scenes of Survivor 2023.
“Crew members are quitting,” one source said. “The hotel they’re living in is under renovation, so it’s basically a construction site. The pools have been ripped out, and the food is unsanitary, with many people falling ill.”
“Multiple producers and cameramen have quit, and before filming, they found it hard to find people to work on the show because no producers from previous seasons wanted to return because of the toxic culture.”
The industry insider then claimed that the production company behind Survivor is “awful”.
They added, “They pay less than every other production company and have gone through multiple HR managers.” Yikes!
