The Bachelor Australia 2020 star Bella Varelis has called out one of her followers for accidentally sending her a “horrific” DM.
Bella, who was the runner-up during Locky Gilbert‘s season of the now-defunct dating show, took to Instagram in June to reveal she received a rather “unnerving” message that was very clearly meant for someone else.

The 29-year-old shared the exchange on her Story on June 25, revealing the DM was in response to a ‘fit check video she’d recently posted.
“I would kick her if I ever saw her,” the user wrote, having accidentally replied to Bella’s Story.
Bella, having noticed the person followed her, pointed out their hypocrisy: “Well, why would you follow someone you want to kick?
“Sounds a bit contradictory, no?”
The Bachelor‘s Bella Varelis ‘names and shames’ the follower for ‘horrific’ DM
Describing the incident as “horrific”, The Bachelor star said she was super freaked out by the message.
“I’m honestly disgusted that someone would actually verbalise wanting to physically harm another human being,” she penned.
“You have no idea what someone else is going through mentally, and a small negative comment can send someone into a spiral.”
Bella went on to “name and shame” the follower because “if you aren’t happy having your name put to the words that have come out of your mouth or that you have written, then you shouldn’t say them at all.”
“[The follower] then had the audacity to want to have a conversation with me,” she said.
“Honestly, think before you speak.”

Bella Varelis tells fans they should ‘never’ put up with ‘negative’ comments
Bella told fans that it was an “unnerving feeling to think someone wants to physically harm [her]”.
“No one should ever have to feel like they could potentially leave their house and be physically harmed,” she added in a follow-up video.
“Especially with everything going on in this world and the abuse that is happening in Australia, it’s sickening and disgusting.”

The influencer said the comment hit a nerve because she’s “not doing too well at the moment.”
“I want to show you if anyone is ever negative towards you or emotionally or physically abusive, it is never something you should tolerate,” she concluded.
