The Bachelor Australia 2020 villain Roxi Kenny has revealed what really went down between Locky Gilbert‘s final two, Irena Srbinovksa and Bella Varelis.
Despite the drama-filled series airing some 18 months ago, fans of the show are still heavily invested in how the Bachie besties went from being two peas in a pod to mortal enemies in a matter of episodes.
Chatting to So Dramatic! in her first media interview since exiting The Bachelor, Roxi rehashed some pretty juicy deets about her time in the mansion. And yep, she’s got the tea on how Irena and Bella became so “bitter” towards each other in the midst of their feud.
In episode 136 of the So Dramatic! podcast, the former reality star claims the ladies fell out due to their intense feelings for Locky.
“They obviously both had feelings for him and they were friends and it… got in the way, as men do,” the Brisbanite said. “It just kind of turned bitter because it turned into almost a competition between the two of them.”
Despite this, Roxi was understanding of the fact that sharing a TV boyfie was never going to be easy!
“I mean, it’s expected,” she admitted. “You want to feel good and happy for your friend but you’re also like, ‘Don’t take my man!'”
Did Bella Varelis Really Body-Shame Irena Srbinovska In The Bachelor Mansion?
In the midst of her falling out with Bella, Irena confided in Roxi and Maddy Carver that her former Bachie bestie had been body-shaming her in the mansion.
However, despite initially believing the “messed up” things Irena had relayed to her, Roxi is no longer convinced that Bella set out to shame her in any way.
“I just can’t imagine anybody being that hateful towards someone or saying these disgusting things,” she told So Dramatic!. “[Bella’s] not confrontational. She’s very placid. It just seemed really outside of her nature to do something like that.”
She added: “Looking back, I think there might have been some fabrication to it.”
Bella also addressed the claims while The Bachelor was airing, insisting that what happened was quite the opposite.
“She actually has a great body, she’s a babe and I would constantly tell her that,” the 27-year-old said at the time. “So when Steph [Harper] and Izzy [Sharman-Firth] told me she had been telling them I had body-shamed her and then she was saying the same to Roxi and Maddy, I obviously got really upset. Apparently, I [also] said Locky would never find her attractive.”
