Married at First Sight Australia 2020‘s Hayley Vernon has slammed followers for branding her “homophobic” following a controversial post.
Hayley, who is known for sharing divisive posts on social media, took to Instagram in June to criticise a local bank for sharing an LGBTQIA+ pride message in their branch.
She shared a snap of the signage, writing: “How about just focusing on customer service?”
She also shared an image of a staff member wearing heeled boots, captioned: “What is going on here?”
The 37-year-old, who recently found god, later doubled down on her opinion following backlash while slamming people for dubbing her “homophobic“.
“Quit with the homophobic bullsh*t,” she penned. “My sister is gay; I have gay friends and have had messages of support for my stance.
“My opinions are just that, my opinions.”
Hayley went on to detail that LGBTQIA+ messaging appears everywhere and that she doesn’t “support” the advertisement of sexuality.
“I updated my iPhone, and the first thing that came up was an LGBTQ update option,” she explained. “I go to the bank, and it’s there.
‘There’s stickers on shops. It’s all over TikTok, and while you call me homophobic, I know where I stand. I support people… I don’t support a sexuality being promoted so heavily to every man and their dog when there are so many ‘marginalised’ groups.”
Hayley concluded: “We should be focusing on people, all people, and not segregation based on preference.”

Hayley returned to her Instagram Story to slam “uneducated bogans” as she was forced to clarify comments she made about her “gay” sister.
“Also, my sister Lauren would like to remind you all that she is not gay. She is happily married and is worried that uneducated bogans will ask her anyway,” the former OnlyFans star wrote.
“It is our older sister Bianca… should said uneducated bogans have a[n] issue with my life. Can they please ask me and refrain from disrupting Lauren’s ‘energy’.”
In the past, Hayley has been criticised for lip-syncing “racist” slurs on her Instagram Story, as well as for calling out Woolworths for “boycotting” Australia Day — otherwise known as Invasion Day — celebrations.
