Married at First Sight Australia 2024‘s Jonathan McCullough has pleaded for trolls to stop targeting him, despite allowing his friends to attack his TV wife Lauren Dunn on social media.

ICYMI: After secretly texting each other behind Lauren’s back, Ellie Dix and Jonathan debuted their relationship during the two-part Reunion, which rubbed fans the wrong way.

Despite being hurt by the couple on national TV, Lauren defended Jonathan and Ellie on Instagram, begging her fans to stop trolling them and boycotting Ellie’s workplace.

However, Ellie and Jonathan didn’t treat Lauren with the same respect, with several of their friends leaving nasty comments about her online.

Nonetheless, Jonathan has since taken to Instagram to beg people to stop leaving “negative comments” on his social media as it has been “taking a toll” on him mentally.

“This goes out to all the haters, all the people who’ve said all the negative comments,” he told the camera.

“People ask me, ‘Do you hate the trolls?’ And I say ‘no’. Because if I saw what they saw, I’d probably feel the same way,” he confessed.

However, the groom then stated that he “probably wouldn’t go as far as some people have”. And this is rich, coming from the guy who didn’t stop his friends from attacking his TV wife online…

Married at First Sight‘s Jonathan says the trolling is ‘taking a TOLL’ on him

Jonathan then revealed that people had been saying “pretty horrible stuff” about him after his controversial stint on MAFS.

“No matter how strong you are, it takes a toll,” he said. “It’s been hard getting up each morning and being confronted by all the negativity”.

Jonathan ended his video by thanking all of the people who supported him and Ellie during this tough time. And honestly, the hypocrisy is killing us!
