We’ve uncovered when exactly the Married at First Sight Australia 2024 cast will regain full control of their Instagram accounts.

As many avid MAFS fans will be aware, the participants relinquish control of their social media accounts to producers while the show is airing and for several weeks after.

While some stars have used the freedom of Finstas (fake Instagram) and TikTok accounts to share content without producers’ heavy hand, the post-show drama never really starts until Instagram is back on the table.

As reported in episode 376 of the So Dramatic! podcast, one MAFS 2024 participant revealed when we can expect them back in fighting form on Instagram.

“Right now, we are able to post regular life stuff on our accounts via the Channel Nine social media team,” they explained. “They still have full access over our accounts, but we can ask them to post stuff for us and it just needs to be approved.

“From May 5th, we’re able to return to uploading regular posts to Instagram without any approval processes.”

However, the participant said there are “still strict rules” to what they can share, as per their contracts.

Married at First Sight participants continue to go against producers and contracts

As previously reported by Yahoo! Lifestyle, several participants have allegedly been “reprimanded” by Nine for going rogue on alternate social media accounts.

One insider has since told So Dramatic! that this year, “the cast really ignored their contracts and have been posting on their second Instagram accounts the whole time”.

“Some were using their business accounts, their pet’s accounts, or Finsta accounts set up to keep in touch with their friends, family and followers whilst they have no access to their main accounts,” they explained.

“Producers saw this and emailed the cast multiple times telling them to stop posting and stay off social media altogether, warning them that they were breaching their contracts, but most of the cast ignored them and continued to post.”

While producers “weren’t happy” with this, “there wasn’t much they could do about it”.

“They couldn’t pull the entire cast from media and everyone knows they will never sue anyone.”

At least, until now, that is…
