Two of Married at First Sight Australia 2024‘s Jonathan McCullough‘s exes have spilled tea on the “toxic AF” groom.
While fans initially thought Jonathan was meek and “boring” compared to his TV wife Lauren Dunn, the April 7 and 8 episodes painted a very different picture when he and Ellie Dix debuted their romance at the Reunion.
Now, as reported in episode 373 of the So Dramatic! podcast, Jonathan’s skeevy behaviour isn’t anything new.
One of Jonathan’s former partners revealed that they split two years ago and said he “wasn’t great.”
“He’s playing a good guy, but he isn’t. The whole nice guy thing is BS. He’s toxic AF,” she told host Megan Pustetto. “I hate the way he is being portrayed when he is nothing but a condescending control freak.
“He’s not as nice as he’s making out to be.”
And it turns out texting other women during relationships also comes naturally to the 39-year-old!
“When we started dating, he had a girl living with him who he said was like a sister… It was like three months in, and he finally told me they used to sleep together and date,” the ex recalled.
“He would secretly message her our whole relationship too. So he’s not grown up or worked on himself since we broke up.” Yikes!

While Jonathan’s MAFS bio alleges he “packed up his life and sold everything he owned” to travel the world after his relationship with the abovementioned ex ended, she says this isn’t the case.
“The whole selling up everything to travel after the break-up was bullsh*t. He was [allegedly] trying to hide his money overseas,” she claimed.
“Also, he said on the show that he’s never been with a girl who can cook before. But I’m his most recent ex, and I have a legit cake business, and I’m a very good cook.”
She added: “When we were together, he would lie to me flat-out and then say he couldn’t remember, just like he did to Lauren.”

A second woman who dated Jonathan also spoke to So Dramatic!, revealing she went on one date with him in April 2023.
“He was extremely homophobic on our date,” she alleged, adding: “And he said he didn’t believe in eating fruit.
“He was actually nice enough, just a bit boring.”
She continued: “He has family in Queensland but moved in with his business partner and that guy’s wife and small child, which I thought was weird.
“I don’t remember a whole lot else. Honestly, I found him boring and kind of weird, so I’m surprised he got on the show.”
It comes as Jonathan claims he and Ellie were sworn to secrecy by producers and couldn’t tell anyone they were together before the reunion.
However, Lauren has alleged that “the majority of the cast” knew, and she was left in the dark.
