We’ve uncovered the truth behind claims that Married at First Sight Australia 2024‘s Lauren Dunn was “putting on an act” and being ‘fake’ during filming.
ICYMI: Lauren’s hubby Jonathan McCullough was exposed for sending flirty texts to Ellie Dix during the experiment, with whom he’s now in a relationship IRL.
As revealed in episode 367 of the So Dramatic! podcast, multiple contestants have accused Lauren of being an “actress”. Which is pretty rich, considering Jonathan was the one acting like he “wasn’t attracted” to his “friend” Ellie. Just sayin’!

“In an Uber ride home after a Commitment Ceremony, when Lauren said a heap of nice things about Jono, he said, ‘Thanks for saying all those nice things. I didn’t realise you felt that way,” one contestant told So Dramatic!.
“Lauren turned to him and said, ‘Yeah, I deserve a f*cking Academy Award!’.”
According to the source, Jonathan brought this moment up at the last dinner party, but it was left on the cutting room floor.

However, sources close to everyone’s favourite bride have denied these claims, stating that the “Academy Award” comment was taken out of context.
“The comment was made regarding her crying on the couch at the last Commitment Ceremony,” the source told So Dramatic!. “It was self-deprecating because she hadn’t expected to get so upset about Jono cheating on her.
“She was crying because she was embarrassed and humiliated and because the cheating triggered her and brought up a lot of trauma from her past relationships.
“It was just an emotional moment.” And this checks out ‘coz Lauren always uses humour as a defence mechanism!
MAFS‘ Jonathan is called out for ‘self-editing’
The source explained that Jonathan was “paranoid about his image and how he was going to be portrayed.”
“He was putting on this good guy act for the camera, and the producers could tell, whereas Lauren was just herself the whole time and didn’t give two f*cks about how she looked.
“Producers loved her because she was so authentic.” And who’s the real actor now?
They added: “The producers kept telling Jono to stop self-editing… they hated anyone who was trying to self-edit.
“Funnily enough, everyone who tried to self-edit during filming all hated the way they looked when they saw their little snippets at the reunion.” And karma is a b*tch!
