Married at First Sight Australia 2024‘s Jack Dunkley‘s ex Courtney is pursuing legal action against her former partner and Channel Nine after it was revealed the groom shared nude photos of her during the show.

As previously reported by So Dramatic!, the 11th season of the marriage experiment was heavily centred around a scandal in which Jack showed several grooms intimate images of Courtney without her consent.

However, it was later revealed that Nine canned the storyline for legal reasons.

As revealed in episode 365 of the So Dramatic! podcast, this was due to Courtney threatening the network with legal action should it air the scandal.

This also applied to any further mention of Courtney in the remainder of the series.

So Dramatic! also understands that the Queenslander is exploring a legal case against Jack for defaming her on national TV. As well as criminal charges in relation to him sharing nude images of her with other grooms.

In Australia, sharing or showing this kind of content without the person’s. consent is known as “revenge porn” or, more formally, as “image-based abuse”.

Across the country, legislation has been introduced to criminalise this behaviour in every state and territory besides Tasmania.

On a national level, people can be charged with “using a carriage service to cause offence or to harass or menace another person” (as per section 474.17 of the Criminal Code).

In NSW, under section 91Q of the Crimes Act, it is an offence to intentionally distribute an intimate image of another person, with the maximum penalty for this being a fine of $11,000 or imprisonment for three years or both.

Court documents witnessed by Daily Mail Australia confirm a hearing for the application has been adjourned until April 18.

In the meantime, Courtney “must be of good behaviour towards the aggrieved and not commit domestic violence against the aggrieved”.

She also must not contact Jack or make “adverse comments” about him online, nor be within 100 metres of him unless appearing in court.
