It’s been revealed why several Married at First Sight Australia 2024 couples remained in the experiment well past their expiry date.

The 11th season of the marriage series is shaping up to be the most chaotic yet, with some couples on the brink of collapse — and some who have already high-tailed out of there completely!

Despite their crumbling relationships, MAFS insiders have dished that many of the participants milked the experiment for all its worth.

As reported in episode 351 of the So Dramatic! podcast, most of the newlyweds “stayed way longer than they should have”.

“They all know now that the longer they stay, the more famous they will get,” one source said.

“Filming was such a hassle because there were so many couples still on the show.”

In fact, there were so many duos still remaining towards the end of the experiment that even the crew were baffled!

“The cameramen and production crew kept saying to the cast, ‘We’re not used to having to coordinate this many people because by now, it’s normally only about half the couples’,” the insider recalled

“So filming was always such a long arduous process because of that.”
