A Married at First Sight Australia 2024 producer has admitted that Jayden Eynaud‘s cooked confession “derail[ed]” his planned storyline.
During the February 6 episode of the marriage experiment, the couples were tasked with writing a letter to their spouse as part of Confessions Week.
While some were relatively tame, viewers were shaken to their core when Jayden detailed the terms on which he and his ex-girlfriend rekindled their relationship after she cheated on him.
The kickboxer said that while he was “willing to give her another chance”, he wanted to “sleep with one of her best friends while she watched”.
“One of her friends agreed to do it.” And to make things even weirder, he had zero regrets about it.
Now, given Jayden was getting the “nice guy” edit up until this point, some fans wondered whether the confession was orchestrated by producers.
However, executive producer John Walsh said that the spicy admission definitely wasn’t planned.

Speaking to an outlet, John said the confessions “go in different directions we never anticipate”.
“We have a hero kind of character this year where he revealed a story during Confessions Week,” he said, referring to Jayden.
“And we went, ‘Mate. I wish you hadn’t told that story.’ Because it suddenly derails momentarily or otherwise, his story arc.”
The producer then said Jayden — whose brother Mitch appeared as a groom in 2022 — is a “complex character”.
“You see him one way for the first few weeks, and then he says something else, and you go, ‘Wow’, and it makes you stop and think,” John confessed. “But that’s the show, and you’ve got to follow that right through.”
Now, I guess we wait and see what else MAFS has in store for Jayden – or what else Jayden has in store for MAFS!
