Turns out there is a method to the madness of choosing the Married at First Sight Australia 2024 honeymoon locations. In particular, which couples get to travel overseas while others stay within the country.
One week into the 11th season of the marriage experiment and the honeymoons are well underway, with Jack Dunkley and Tori Adams travelling to Vanuatu and Tim Calwell and Sara Mesa visiting Fiji.
Meanwhile, their co-stars were restricted to local (but still gorgeous) holiday spots such as the Whitsundays, Broome and Port Stephens.
So, how do producers decide who goes where? After all, it does seem a tad unfair, hey?
I love how the producers send one couple on an all expenses paid trip to France and the other gets sent to Long Bay Prison to fend for themselves.#MAFS #MAFSAU

Married at First Sight’s Melinda Willis reveals how producers decide on honeymoon locations
According to MAFS 2023 bride Melinda Willis, where the newlyweds honeymoon all comes down to timing and drama.
During an interview on Yahoo! Australia’s Behind The Edit podcast, she explained the nuptials and holidays are “staggered” over two weeks.
“When you do your hens, and you do your bucks, some of the girls were off in the next few days to get married, and I had two weeks to wait,” she said.
“You know how you see us all kind of get married at the same time, do the honeymoon and dinner party at the same time? That’s not all correct.
“If you’re first, they actually have to separate you for a few days while everyone else catches up so that no more happens and they don’t get it on camera. So they have to separate you and bring you back together to go to the dinner party.”
How does drama play a part in Married at First Sight honeymoon locations?
Melinda said couples with the potential for drama get sent on longer honeymoons.
“I think they kind of look at who’s going to bring the drama and how much content they’re going to get, and obviously, they’re going to send them away longer, which is the overseas trips,” she explained.
And suddenly, Jack and Tori, and Tim and Sara’s getaways make a whole lotta sense!
Melinda added: “Whereas ours was in the Hawkesbury River, and I think we had a day and a half of our honeymoon.
“Then we went from our honeymoon that morning straight into the dinner party while everyone else had either been separated or were still together, got to sleep, wake up and get ready for the dinner party.”
A day and a half honeymoon? NUTS!
