Insiders have spilled the beans about the real reason behind Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Tahnee Cook and Ollie Skelton‘s shock split.

ICYMI: The couple — who everyone was rooting for — took to Instagram on December 13 to announce they’d broken up, much to the dismay of MAFS fans across the globe.

While Tahnee vaguely admitted that “sometimes relationships just don’t work out”, Ollie said the couple struggled to adjust to life post-experiment.

Since the bombshell split, sources close to the young couple have shed light on what really went down behind closed doors.

Apparently, Tahnee and Ollie’s MAFS co-stars suspected a breakup was imminent, with one insider telling Yahoo! Lifestyle that the duo realised Ollie’s move to Sydney immediately after filming wrapped “wasn’t the best idea”.

“They never had a chance to take a breath and progress their relationship at a more natural pace and the bubble eventually burst,” they confessed. “They still love each other and there’s no hard feelings, they’re just not compatible.”

Another person said “they’ve been coasting for a while now”.

“We all knew this was coming,” they told the outlet. “It’s just awkward because Ollie moved his whole life here [Sydney] for Tahnee.”

The weird detail amid Married at First Sight‘s Tahnee Cook and Ollie Skelton’s breakup

After the announcement of their split, Tahnee released an episode of her podcast, Chuffed, in which she revealed she and Ollie will continue living together for the foreseeable future.

And yep, she’s stronger than the rest of us!

“Obviously this is not normal by any means,” she started. “But as you guys know Ollie moved from Perth to Sydney so we will actually be living together for, I don’t know, maybe a couple months? We’ll see.”

Citing the current housing and cost of living crisis as a reason behind their choice to remain living together, Tahnee said they “don’t even know how to navigate that”.

“So hopefully Ollie and I are just going to be alright because it’s just hectic.”
