Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Tahnee Cook and Ollie Skelton have sadly split and we’re SHOOK, so we’ve compiled everything we know about their breakup thus far.

The couple quickly won fans over during their time in the marriage experiment, and that adoration continued long after the cameras stopped rolling.

In February 2023, Ollie moved from Perth to be with Tahnee in her hometown of Sydney and, from an outsider’s perspective, everything appeared to be on the right track.

As such, fans were shocked to learn on December 13 that the duo had split.

Taking to Instagram, Tahnee said it was “only fair for [her] to share when things aren’t always fun”, given she shares the “highlights of [her] life” too.

“Sadly, Ollie and I have decided to part ways,” she penned. “Our lives are taking us in different directions and we feel at this stage it’s the best decision for us.

“From meeting as strangers who got ‘married’, to genuinely finding love, I’m pretty proud of the time we’ve shared.”

The 27-year-old said their life together has been a rollercoaster, but admitted that “sometimes relationships just don’t work out”.

“No matter how much you want them to — and that’s okay,” she continued. “I’m so thankful for what these last 16 months have taught me, and for the genuinely supportive community I’ve found on here.

“Breakups are never easy but heartbreak is worth it in the pursuit of love.”

Married at First Sight 2023‘s Ollie Skelton addresses split from Tahnee Cook

Soon after Tahnee’s breakup announcement, Ollie took to his own Instagram page to share the news.

“Hello, Tahnee and I have split up. It’s sad, but it’s okay,” he assured fans.

“What a ride! A journey filled with love, laughter, challenges, and in the last month, reflection. I think we tried really hard to make it work.”

The 26-year-old said there was a “separation” from being a couple in the confines of MAFS accommodation and real life that they found it “hard to account for”. And, not without trying, the “adjustment” was something they “struggled to make”.

“I kinda have this pipe dream of us being like Jerry and Elaine from Seinfeld post-breakup, a very hard thing to do obviously, but the sentiment at its core is that I plan to try to be someone who champions Tahnee and can be there for her as a friend,” Ollie added.

“In a post like this, the words “friend” and “break up” are usually synonymous but with little truth behind them. However, if friendship was the foundation of us before love, I like to think it might be something we can share in the aftermath.”

Alongside his kind words, Ollie shared a video of him and Tahnee laughing and dancing, which he said was from the previous evening.

“I think we’re on the right track,” he confessed.

The telling signs Married at First Sight‘s Tahnee Cook and Ollie Skelton split a while ago

Sources close to the couple told a media outlet that Tahnee and Ollie’s split was anticipated by those in their inner circle.

“They worked out they would be better off as friends and felt too much pressure with everything that came on the back of MAFS,” an insider shared.

While they live together, they’ve reportedly been living increasingly separate lives.

In posts documenting Ollie’s recent birthday and subsequent outings, Tahnee was noticeably absent. Meanwhile, the Chuffed podcast host attended the TikTok Awards alone in December.

She also didn’t mention her partner when asked about her Christmas plans.

“I’m actually going to spend some time with my sister in Melbourne… just have a chill one, really,” Tahnee said, before remaining tight-lipped about plans the couple may have to walk down the aisle for real.

“Look, we’ll see. I’m young, you know… We’ll see.”
