A neighbour to The Block 2023 has spilled a bunch of behind-the-scenes details about the Charming Street builds and damn, we’re a tad shook.

As we all know by now, reality TV is far from reality, no matter how much a show tries to convince us that everything you see on the screen is exactly how they played out in real life.

Take The Block, for example: they want us to believe that the entire renovations are completed in just 12 weeks.

However, according to one spy, that’s not actually the case.

Taking to Reddit, one user shared “snippets” from a Charming Street neighbour’s Facebook blog about The Block.

In the screenshot, one user questioned whether the Blockheads really cease work when Scott Cam calls “tools down” on Sunday mornings.

They also wondered what happens to “all the unfinished work still remaining after the 12 weeks”.

According to the neighbour, Scott “normally arrived after 9 am in his orange Raptor”.

“The camera guys then set up the truck for filming and then he did his ‘Tools Down’ for the camera somewhere after 9:30 am most Sundays,” they explained.

Work on The Block renovations takes WAY longer than the specified 12 weeks

As for the “unfinished work”, the unknown Facebook spy said The Block‘s overarching building company Nine in Six started “working on the houses from November last year”.

“The contestants arrived around March 23 and finished around June 23,” they wrote. “Then Nine In Six continued working on the houses for two to three months afterwards.

“The contestants have been back several times since to continue doing inside work in the houses.”

The more you know!

Now, we were already aware that the Blockheads had returned to site in the time the series finished filming, because Eliza and Liberty Paschke dished that their on-screen beef with Kristy and Brett Beams has only continued behind closed doors.

As such, producers are expecting auction day to be an explosive one! Bring it on, we say!
