Love Island Australia 2022‘s Claudia Bonifazio has announced a surprising career move and she’s already killing it!
According to The Advertiser, the reality star has landed her first acting role and filming has already wrapped.
The 24-year-old will be starring in the South Australian horror film Spithood, which will be hitting the cinemas in 2024.
Claudia explained that the transition from reality TV to film was “a smooth and fantastic experience”.
“It was lovely to work with people straight out of my hometown,” the Adelaide-based star dished. “Our state has some of the best places to shoot films and movies and I am glad we shot our film here.”
The former Islander also admitted that whilst she was grateful for her time on reality TV, she was “trying to paint [herself] as more of an actor than a TV show star.”
“Ever since Love Island, I’ve gotten a few calls, but I don’t trust a lot of the people going to Hollywood. So I’m just trying to start slow and go there the long way,” she said.
And it seems she’s already a natural, as director Tim Pine described Claudia as “any director’s delight”.
“She’s got that Teresa Palmer presence on screen,” he said, referencing the iconic Aussie actress. “Her eyes can tell me everything I need to know.”

Claudia also spilled the tea on her relationship with Austen Bugeja, whom she won Love Island Australia 2022 with.
The actress said that the couple were in a “really good place” and “marriage was definitely on the books”, reports The Advertiser.
“I don’t actually think I’ve had a stronger relationship and we both know what we want,” she gushed. And we’re not crying, you are!
