Love Island Australia 2022 fans fear the worst for Austen Bujega and Claudia Bonifazio‘s chances at winning after Phoebe Spiller (and producers) majorly stirred the pot.
During the December 8 episode, the fan-favourite couple butted heads during the “Naughty List” challenge, where they read an (often brutal) quote that another Islander said about them behind their backs.
Claudia’s sledging came from none other than her villa bae – and IRL bae according to our sources – Austen and it was #Savage!
“I like Claudia but you think I tell her 100 per cent of what we talk about? Fuck no, no you tell her 75 per cent of the rundown. Little bits and pieces,” it brutally read.
While Austen initially got in trouble for joking with his mates (and notorious sh*t-stirrers) Callum Hole and Mitch Eliot that he only told his girlfriend “75 per cent” or “little bits and pieces” of any situation to avoid confrontation. Well, look how that turned out!
But what really concerned Claudia was Mitch’s comment that Austen had wanted to participate in one of of Love Island’s notorious truth-or-dare three-way kisses, which he had previously promised that he immediately walked away from.
Claudia had gone to ask Mitch about his comment first (after having a pretty justified rant sesh with the other girls), rather than just addressing it with Austen directly.
Mitch confirmed that Austen did, in fact, walk away when things got “steamy” because he is, well… he’s Austen. That boy is an absolute dreamboat!
But it brought up a reoccurring issue for the pair – trust.

Self-proclaimed “snake” Phoebe told Austen and Callum what Claudia had told the girls and yeah, this was never gonna turn out well for #Clausten.
Fans were furious that the producers only targeted Cladua and Austen’s relationship during the “Naughty List” challenge, with many suggesting that showrunners were manufacturing a fight so the fan faves wouldn’t win.
Other viewers took to Twitter to call out Phoebe, Mitch and Callum for being “fake friends”, creating drama and not wanting the best for Claudia and Austen’s blossoming relationship.
