The Block 2022‘s Sharon Johal is leaving her renovation days in the dust as she joins the second season of the hit Aussie drama, The Twelve.
The 35-year-old lawyer and her accountant husband, Ankur Dogra, found themselves at the centre of controversy during the 18th season of the renovation show last year.
From budget blunders to beef with their builders, Sharon is no stranger to drama — so we think a role on The Twelve is perfect!
The courtroom drama follows 12 ordinary Australians who are called up for jury duty amid a murder trial, all while grappling with their own personal grievances.
Taking to Instagram on August 31, Sharon — who previously starred in Neighbours — admitted that she’s “so incredibly grateful” to be part of the cast.
“I am so so incredibly excited to introduce my character to you all and I can honestly say from the heart that I’ve been working on one of the best sets I’ve ever worked on over the last few months with the best bunch of people, actors, directors and crew in the biggest production ever to hit Western Australia,” she wrote.
“There are so many full circle moments that are happening all around me in so many magical ways experiencing Perth for the first time that tell me with complete certainty that this is EXACTLY where I need to be.”
Sharon added: v and an experience I already know I will hold in my heart forever.
“Ps Dad knows this is a big deal because I’m working with the guy from Jurassic Park! As an immigrant family’s kid, this is a big deal, yo.”
Sam Neill (A.K.A “the guy from Jurassic Park“) will reprise his role as Brett Colby SC. Meanwhile, Francis O’Connor has also joined the cast as Meredith Melson-Moore SC.
The second season’s cast announcement comes just weeks after The Block co-host Shelley Craft hinted that Sharon and Ankur were the “worst team” she’d seen on the show.
Let’s just hope she doesn’t have the same review of Sharon’s new gig!
