The Bachelor Australia 2021‘s Brooke Cleal has opened up about her “struggles” with her sexuality after hard launching her girlfriend, Alyssa Viktoria.
On August 26, the former reality star took to Instagram to share her new relationship with her followers.
Whilst stressing that her post was about her “loving, liberating and empowering” relationship with Alyssa, Brooke also wanted to address the “struggles [she’d] experienced” and the “progression she’d made within [herself] and [her” sexuality” over the past two years.
She expressed that she’d been “torn between excitement and fear” for months, as she was worried about facing “rejection and scrutiny” again after coming second place on Jimmy Nicholson‘s season of The Bachelor.
“The suppression of my feelings caused sleepless nights and significant frustration and questions,” she continued.
“People have asked me if I knew about [my sexuality] before the show. And the truth is, perhaps it was always there without acknowledgement, understanding or exploration.”

Brooke then gushed about her new relationship, sharing that she was immediately drawn to Alyssa.
“As soon as I met Alyssa, she had this energy so individualistic I just magnetised,” she wrote. “Full of fun, charisma, intellect and wit, she continues to leave me speechless.”
The 30-year-old went on to say that she’d found someone to “share something real” and “slow down with”.
“You inspire me every single second of the day and I’m so in awe with you,” she finished, tagging #writeyourstory, #lgbtcommunity, #queer, #gaymelbourne #gaylondon and #mentalhealth.
Since announcing her new relationship, it appears Brooke has temporarily deactivated her Instagram account.
