Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Josh White has slammed the Logies for playing “emasculating” footage of him from the marriage experiment.
Taking to his Instagram Story following the award show’s July 30 broadcast, the father-of-two criticised the event for playing scenes in which his TV wife Melissa Sheppard questioned his manhood.
“I found it in poor taste to use very specific footage of me in the first award nomination,” he penned at the time.

“If the show was really about love, then why not show the two couples that successfully made the journey and celebrate that?
“Instead they used footage of me being emasculated to a national TV audience.”
Josh added that he was “good enough” to be “use[d] to further damage [his] character”. However, “not good enough, it seems, to be invited to attend” the Logies.

Later appearing on 2DAY FM’s Hughesy, Ed & Erin, Josh said it was difficult to watch the scene and didn’t understand why it was used.
Married at First Sight‘s Josh White says he was ‘taken aback’ by Logies footage
“I was putting the kids to bed, so I missed the segment,” Josh explained. “I got a message from Rupert [Bugden] to say they’d used footage of me, which I thought was odd,” he confessed. “I’d only been on there for a couple of weeks of the 12-week run.”
“I was really taken aback.”
He continued: “The hard thing is when you watch the footage, you can actually hear the crowd in the audience react to the footage that they’re seeing… I just thought it was odd.
Another clip that appeared was of Caitlin McConville and Shannon Adams, who also broke up early in the series.

“It’s like promoting a car race by showing car crashes, that’s what it is, isn’t it?” co-host Dave “Hughesy” Hughes said.
Erin Molan agreed. She then admitted that when she worked at Nine News, she was tasked with creating V8 supercars news packages featuring accidents.
“The reason that they use those bits last night… is because they’re the bits that people love to watch,” she said.
“I feel really sorry for you, because that would have been really awful to watch.”
When asked by the radio hosts how he felt when he first saw the footage, Josh admitted it “was just like a very uneasy anger”.
Well, let’s add that to the list of mounting MAFS Logies drama, shall we?
