Dave Hughes has revealed why he reckons Lindsay Lohan unfollowed him on social media after they worked together on The Masked Singer Australia in 2019.
On July 19, the radio host jokingly told his Hughesy, Ed & Erin co-hosts that the actress unfollowed him because she was “jealous of his success”.
The Mean Girls star also unfollowed the rest of her fellow Masked Singer panellists, including Jackie O Henderson and Dannii Minogue.
However, Dave, 52, confessed that he was upset that he could no longer contact Lindsay, especially since she’d recently welcomed her first child, Luai, with her husband Bader Shammas.
“Don’t talk about Lindsay Lohan unfollowing me when I can’t send her a private message to congratulate her on her baby,” he said.
Why did Lindsay Lohan unfollow The Masked Singer 2019 judges?
In 2020, Dave explained why he thought Lindsay unfollowed The Masked Singer 2019 judges.
At the time, The Parent Trap star was unable to return to the show due to COVID-19-related travel restrictions. And according to Dave, Lindsay was probably a lil’ jealous.
“I know what it’s like if you’re on a TV show and then you’re not … and you see people on that show you were on having fun,” he told The Herald Sun at the time.
“You don’t want to see that. It’s annoying. So I absolutely understand,” he said, before sharing he’d do the same in her situation.
Dave then admitted he’d tried to get Lindsay to re-follow him, but she ghosted him.
“I did ask her on WhatsApp if she could re-follow me on Insta. I could see that she’d read the WhatsApp message, but she [didn’t] follow me again!” he admitted.
Jackie O Henderson spills the beans on her feud with Lindsay Lohan
It seems Lindsay is at the centre of a lot of Masked Singer beef because she’s also feuding with Jackie.
Whilst the pair had a tight bond on the show, Jackie revealed that they had a small tiff because she didn’t defend Lindsay after co-star Wendell Sailor called her out for her “diva behaviour”.
During an appearance on The Kyle and Jackie O Show in October 2019, Wendell revealed that Lindsay was difficult to work with, stating that she held up his performance for an hour because she was “hungry”.
At the time, the 48-year-old didn’t defend these comments. However, on July 18, Jackie told co-host Kyle Sandilands that she didn’t “jump to [Lindsay’s] defence” because she “didn’t want to stop the interview.” And fair enough!
However, from that point forward, things got “a little uncomfortable” between them.
“We’re fine, it was just that tiny little rocky period,” she justified.
