The Block 2023 is about to hit our screens and we know the exact location of where the explosive new season was filmed.

According to Yahoo! Lifestyle, this series will be bigger and more dramatic than ever before, with insiders dishing that there’ll be a LOT of conflict between the teams. Yikes.

But where is all this chaos taking place?

This year, The Block was filmed in Melbourne’s Hampton East on Charming Street

Five beautiful classic brick homes, numbered 14, 16, 18, 20 and 22, were purchased off the market by Channel Nine for approximately $14.3 million. And yes, that made our eyes water a lil’ bit…

Buyers agent and The Block regular Nicole Jacobs previously told realestate.com.au the location would make the season “a lot easier” and Charming Street is a “great street”.

“It’s bringing it back to a neighbourhood format and it’s going to be a lot easier than Gisborne,” she said.

“While Hampton East is the poor cousin of Hampton, it’s starting to really take off.

“There’s good infrastructure around there with parks, Moorabbin station and a large Woolworths.”

Nicole then described the location as a “happy little pocket” with some “lovely established homes”.

“I think it will be more manageable and achievable for buyers to think about buying in that pocket and it will pick up that whole area,” she added. Sweet!

The Block 2023‘s Charming Street hasn’t been all that charming

We know we’re in for some on-screen drama this season, but things have been even more chaotic behind the scenes, as tensions were brewing on Charming Street whilst the show was being filmed.

From residents complaining that The Block was ruining their neighbourhood’s “charm” to filming crew “illegally” parking their cars in front of driveways, the tension was non-stop.

In fact, there was enough drama that they should’ve made a spin-off show! And we know we’d tune in for that!
