Each contestant started off with a wristband worth $10,000. However, they could gain or lose wristbands depending on their performance in challenges and eliminations.

And it was far from easy. From stealing and backstabbing to manipulation and betrayal, all whilst braving the fiercely hot sun, these contestants were put through their paces.

But who was able to tough it out til’ the bitter end? Keep scrolling to find out who won Million Dollar Island 2023!

Who won Million Dollar Island 2023?

During the finale on July 25, Jordan Butler, Brett Krause and Chelsea Campbell battled it out one final time.

Jordan had 27 bracelets, Brett had 31 and Chelsea had 42, and during the final game, they had the chance to win more wristbands before it was time to swap them out for cash.

The players were presented with 100 boxes, and in 97 of these boxes was a wristband worth $10,000.

However, the remaining three boxes contained bombs that had the power to blow up $100,000 for whoever landed on them.

The castmates had the choice to trade in their bracelets for a chance to participate in this game. For each bracelet they gave up, they were allowed to open a box. Each player was also gifted a $10,000 bonus.

Jordan was the first to play and he decided to open up six boxes. Overall, he won $70,000.

Next up was Brett, who bravely opened 13 boxes. However, to his horror, his 13th box contained a bomb, causing him to lose all of the money he almost earned.

He ended up walking away with $10,000. And TBH, we’d be pissed. For all the sh*t these contestants had to put up with, that just doesn’t cut it.

The last to play was Chelsea, who opened up 10 boxes. Luckily, she didn’t land on any bombs, pocketing a whopping $110,000.

As the ultimate winner, Chelsea was absolutely “stoked”, stating that she’d “never come close to having $110,000 in [her] bank account”.

“You work so hard to survive the conditions [and] smash the challenges… It’s just the best feeling,” she gushed.

Fans call the show ‘No Million Dollar Island’ after nobody leaves with $1 million

Following the finale, Million Dollar Island fans slammed the show on social media, as people were SHOOK that nobody actually took home $1 million.

“What a con. No one gets a chance at $1 million, best you will get if your game is $100,000 to $120,000,” one user wrote under a post made by the official Million Dollar Island page.

“What a scam act the final is,” a second person penned, whilst another added: “So no one gets $1 million. What a rip-off.”

“It’s the No Million Dollar Island! Impossible for anyone to win $1 million! Such a stupid ending and very disappointing,” another raged.

Another user said the show was “false advertising”, whilst a sixth remarked that the series was a “waste of time” for the viewers and the contestants. Ouch.

Fans also took to Twitter to slam the show for being stingy AF, with one even branding the show “$10,000 Island”.

But it wasn’t just the fans who were shocked. Even the contestants were disappointed, with one telling So Dramatic! that they stopped watching the show “weeks ago”.

“Such a dud. So not worth the torture. And by the looks of it, definitely no season two. The minuscule audience watching it hated it too,” they dished.

And “dud” was really an understatement. According to TV Tonight, the show only achieved 432,000 viewers in Total TV numbers last week.
