The Block 2022‘s controversial bidder Adrian Portelli A.K.A. “Mr Lambo” has made a huge gaffe after facing court for hoon charges.
Fans of the reno series will remember Adrian, who was alleged to be a “dummy bidder” recruited to drive up the sale of Omar Slaimankhel and Oz Malik‘s property. Plus, he’s touted to return to the show in 2023.
The 34-year-old fronted Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on July 17 after being hit with three driving offences.
While the case was adjourned, Adrian made the mistake of posting a photo of himself from inside the court building, complaining about his charges.
This goes against the condition of entry in Victorian Magistrates Courts, which states you cannot take photos or videos inside the precinct.
What did Adrian Portelli post from inside the court?
Taking to his Instagram Story, Adrian complained about the disparity between different charges.
“Victoria – the place where you can get off lighter committing armed burglary than a driving offence,” he wrote.
He then tagged the location as Sunshine Magistrates’ Court alongside a snap of him smiling inside the building.
Outside the court, Adrian told reporters his post wasn’t mocking the court system.
“No, no definitely not,” he said. “I’m all for it [the courts].”
Why was Adrian Portelli charged?
It was revealed in May that Adrian had been accused of hooning at Diggers Rest in December 2020.
Police charged him with careless driving, failing to have proper control of a vehicle and driving in a manner causing a vehicle to lose traction.
The court heard that “Mr Lambo”‘s defence team is still trying to obtain materials from police that they believe will aid in clearing him of the charges.
Adrian will front court again in October.
