The Block 2022‘s mystery bidder Adrian Portelli has shelled out an eye-watering $39 million for a new luxury Melbourne penthouse and holy sh*t, Scotty Cam will be shaking.
The new pad cost so much that it actually broke the record for the city’s most expensive apartment.
But get this: the businessman, who was coined “Mr Lambo” on last year’s season of The Block, isn’t even going to live in the new pad full-time. It’s just his “weekender”.
“I don’t like city living,” he told realestate.com.au. “This will probably be a weekender.” Sheesh! We’d love to see his full-time house!
The boujee apartment is on the top floor of a new development called Sapphire by the Gardens on La Trobe St in the CBD.
It’s still under construction but the billionaire recently did a walk-through and decided to buy the apartment the same day because of “the security” and it’s a “blank canvas”.
But it’s a bit too stark so he’s going to fork about another $6 million, which is probably spare change to Adrian, to crane in an “art piece”.
It’s no Picasso though. It’s his $3 million luxury car that will call the 1200sqm apartment home.

Adrian admitted a major selling point was the penthouse’s direct link to the second tower, which will become a five-star Shangri-La hotel.
‘I’ve got a lift from my apartment that goes directly to the bar [inside the Shangi-La],” he told the outlet.
Adrian also revealed he’s planning to include four bedrooms, a cinema, an indoor pool, a cigar bar as well as multiple kitchens because you never know when you’ll need several personal chefs meal prepping for you.

Adrian made quite the entrance on The Block, arriving at the auctions in a yellow Lamborghini.
He launched the bidding for Omar Slaimankhel and Oz Malik‘s house at a cool $4.5 million, which was $4.08 million over the reserve.
