Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Rupert Bugden has received the Gogglebox treatment, with his TV wedding copping some cheeky commentary on the UK reality show.
MAFS fans will remember that Rupert was a bit of a mess when he wed glamazon Evelyn Ellis in their intruder ceremony.
As such, it’s kind of no surprise their nuptials are going viral on social media — or rather, the UK’s thoughts on their nuptials are.
In scenes from Gogglebox UK that are being posted on TikTok, the cast anticipated what Evelyn would think about her hubby-to-be when she’d specially said she was seeking “passion and a connection”.
“What about a sweaty electrician?” one viewer said of Rupert.
Another expressed: “Oh, he’s not confident at all the poor little bugger.”
And so it continued…
One person wrote: “He can’t believe it can he? Well look, he can’t even speak!”
“‘You look very beautiful’ is what he said, he actually didn’t mumble then!” Another added.
And, our personal fave: “It’s hard, she’s now not only his wife but also his carer.”

What did Rupert Bugden say about his appearance on Gogglebox UK?
Poor Rupert — copping a roasting not once but twice now that his TV wedding is doing the rounds again.
Luckily, according to Punkee, the electrician was a relatively good sport about it.
He doesn’t have plans to relive his MAFS experience on Gogglebox UK anytime soon, joking to the publication it gives him “PTSD” to watch.
While MAFS may not have proven the best option for Rupert to find love, we reckon he’s got far better luck on Hinge, thanks to a spy clocking him on the popular dating app.
