Bombshell claims have emerged that Married at First Sight Australia 2023 intruder couple Rupert Budgen and Evelyn Ellis had a ‘secret pact’ to stay on the show until the Final Vows.
As revealed in episode 272 of the So Dramatic! podcast, a contestant claimed the pair “never liked each other” romantically and made a pact during their honeymoon to stay until the very end.
“Evelyn sat Rupert down on day two of their honeymoon and said, ‘We’re making it to Final Vows because it always looks better. Obviously, we know we’re never going to be together. But we’ve got this opportunity. Let’s just give it a go.” they explained.
According to the contestant, Evelyn – who is now dating her co-star Duncan James – became fixated on ensuring she was going to attend the Logie Awards.
“Rupert said that all she spoke about the entire time is how much she wants to go to the Logies,’ they said. I mean, it’s a pretty cool event, can you blame her?

They also revealed that at the upcoming Reunion, the couple don’t get ‘couch time’ with the experts on the final night and Evelyn was not happy about it.
“Evelyn was annoyed she didn’t get time on the couch because they ran out of time… we were filming until the sun came up,” the insider spilled.
“John [Aitkin] goes, ‘Well, you guys just didn’t have a big enough storyline and you were too involved in everyone else’s relationship.’
‘You didn’t really focus too much on your own relationship and all you did was nitpick Rupert about all the things that he wasn’t doing’.
“So after that, she wasn’t even going to rock up to the publicity the day after the Reunion all because she was p*ssed off that she didn’t get a couch session.”
If someone made me film until the sun came up for no gain, mark my words I too would be p*ssed!
