MasterChef Australia 2023 viewers have slammed the series for its “terribly disappointing” editing, with fans claiming it’s favouring certain contestants over others.

The popular cooking competition recently underwent an audit after the series premiere was postponed a week following the announcement that beloved judge Jock Zonfrillo had died.

It hasn’t been revealed what, if any, changes were made to the edit of MasterChef. However, fans aren’t happy with the show regardless.

Taking to the MasterChef Australia 2023 fan group on Facebook, one viewer complained about contestants’ lack of airtime.

“Terribly disappointed after tonight’s episode as once again we had the situation of some ‘cooks’ not featuring their dishes at the end so we don’t even know what they cooked,” the disgruntled fan wrote.

“Fortunately none of them are in the cook-off tomorrow night so they weren’t among the three worst cooks for the night.

They added. “Unfortunately because the overall series has concluded filming this situation is not likely to be corrected in future episodes.”

Other MasterChef Australia viewers claim the editing is ‘nothing new’

While many users echoed the annoyed viewer’s sentiment, others said this issue is “nothing new” for MasterChef.

“Haven’t you watched the previous 14 series?” one viewer responded.

“There really isn’t time to watch everyone’s dish being tasted,” another confessed.

“The judges have watched throughout the cook and have chosen a certain number of dishes to taste, as they have always done.”

Another added: “They usually focus on the best and the worst dishes of the challenge.”

“If you watch MasterChef from other countries, they do exactly the same thing,” a fourth explained.

But hey, we guess if there aren’t any tragic AF editing fails like some of the other shows out there, MasterChef is doing alright!
