Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Duncan James has his sights set on marrying co-star and girlfriend Evelyn Ellis, and we are SO here for this.

The pair shocked absolutely no one on May 10 when they confirmed they’re in a relationship, but they might have fans doing a double take with their latest admission.

During an interview on Today Extra, host David Campbell asked Duncan and Evelyn whether they’d consider getting married IRL in a televised event (à la Jules Robinson and Cam Merchant).

According to Duncan, he’s totes up for it!

“Yes, I’m keen,” the 36-year-old confessed. However, his bae stayed mum on the matter.

Duncan even went as far as to suggest that MAFS expert John Aiken could help arrange an official recoupling. We second this!

Romance speculation first sparked after the pair were spotted at Sydney Mardi Gras in February, with several So Dramatic! spies revealing they’d since spotted the couple together on multiple occasions.

It came after their respective TV marriages to Alyssa Barmonde and Rupert Bugden went up in flames at the Final Vows.

How Married at First Sight‘s Duncan James and Evelyn Ellis built their bond

After chemistry sparked when Duncan and Evelyn were paired in MAFS‘ Partner Swap task, the pair said they had to find inventive ways to explore their romance on the down-low after filming wrapped.

“When we were starting to date without anyone knowing about it, you’ve got to come up with very interesting ways of trying to do fun things,” Duncan explained in the same interview.

“So whether it was on the back of the motorbike and going down to some secluded beaches, we did a few boat days — I’ve got my boat license — or whether it was games inside my unit that I’d come up with!”

Then, Evelyn revealed they “played board games”.

“We really got to know each other!”

When asked why they chose to announce their romance online, Duncan said it all came down to controlling the narrative.

“We wanted to do the right thing and be able to say it the way that it happened, and not let people come up with their own thoughts around how things happened.”
