Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Bronte Schofield has confessed there is a “good” side to her controversial TV husband, Harrison Boon.

Uh, sure, Jan.

After two months of required MAFS viewing, fans are pretty certain that there are few redeeming qualities about the former tradie, whose fiery stoushes dominated much of the 10th season.

Even more so, faith in his marriage to Bronte soon wilted after claims the pair were “faking” their relationship emerged.

However, Bronte has since confessed her real feelings for Harrison kept her in the experiment far longer than necessary.

Chatting to the So Dramatic! podcast host Megan Pustetto in episode 278, the 28-year-old said they “really did have that spark”.

“There was instant chemistry, our families got along so well,” Bronte said of their wedding day. “It was everything that I could’ve hoped for.

“Everyone kept coming up to us going, ‘You and Harrison suit so much’. I could not have asked for it any better.”

Despite the drama that plagued their romance from thereon in, Bronte said the attraction kept her coming back for more.

“I just kept coming back to this going, ‘But things are so good, it’s everything that I wanted’,” she explained. “And if that makes me naive or whatever, then so what?

“The actual conversations that Harrison and I had off camera… We had fun. There was laughter. He does smile, he does laugh.”

Bronte continued: “I’m not gonna sit here and defend his actions, but there is another side to Harrison that just did not get shown whatsoever.

“And I would not have stayed if I didn’t see that side.”

Bronte Schofield takes ‘full accountability’ for dramatising Harrison Boon’s behaviour

Acknowledging that many women have similarly been in “toxic” relationships, Bronte said people’s loved ones often only “hold on to” the “bad parts” that you depict.

“I take full accountability for painting an extra picture to the girls in the experiment that Harrison was just an awful, awful human,” she said, noting this was not always the case.

We mean, our jaws were on the floor for the better part of the experiment but go on, sis…

“When things were bad, they were so bad that I was just so mind-blown that somebody could treat somebody this way.”

However, when it came down to Harrison apologising for his behaviour, “it felt so real and genuine“.

“And then we would go out for dinner, or we’d have a drink, and things were just back to how they were,” she recalled.

“So I’m thinking this man really cares about me… But at the end of the day, it was fake.

“It wasn’t real, and that’s what I’ve been trying to process… At the end, it was really hard to wrap my head around.”

The bombshell interview dropped just days after MAFS 2023‘s epic reunion finale, which left much to be desired after Bronte and Harrison’s final couch session with the experts was omitted from the final cut.
