Fans threaten to boycott Farmer Wants A Wife as Samantha Armytage takes over as host from Natalie Gruzlewski

Farmer Wants A Wife Australia 2023 is back for another year but fans weren’t too happy to see Samantha Armytage fronting the reality TV show instead of long-time host Natalie Gruzlewski.

Beloved presenter Natalie is still on the Channel 7 show but she’s been demoted to Samantha’s “Cupid in Arms” after they switched roles.

The unexpected host change caught viewers off-guard with many taking to Twitter during the premiere on April 10 calling for Natalie to be reinstated.

@FarmerAustralia Got nothing against Sam Armytage, but what's happened to Nat Gruzlewski? She's been with this show for some time, i see no reason to replace what's not broken.

Fans share theories on why Samantha Arymtage replaced Natalie Gruzlewski as Farmer Wants A Wife‘s host

Farmer Wants A Wife fans didn’t shy away from guessing why Natalie was “ditched” for Samantha.

Even though Samantha is married to a farmer, one particular viewer didn’t believe that was reason enough to take over as host.

Samantha and her husband, Richard Lavender married on New Year’s Eve in 2020. The following year she announced her departure from Sunrise to live on the farm with her husband.

“I moved to the country for love so I know a little bit about this,” she told the contestants during the premiere episode.

“And it was a huge and exciting tree change.”

Imagine how much better the show would have been if Natalie Gruzlewski was kept as host, instead they have to shoehorn Sam into the host role because she married a "Farmer".

Samantha Armytage announced as Farmer Wants A Wife Host

The former Sunrise host joined the dating show as a guest in 2022, but her role on the successful show has been significantly expanded.

A Seven executive told TV Tonight the pair had effectively “flipped roles”.

New Idea claimed the shake-up was a blow to Natalie after being the face of the show for 11 years.

“No one saw this coming, least of all Nat. She didn’t know the full extent of the role changes until recently – it was a bolt out of the blue!” a source told the publication.

Natalie will get more air time when she presents her own segment called “Nat’s Getaway” during the 2023 season.

This year will see five new farmers Brad, 32, David, 29, Brenton, 26, Matt, 23, and Andrew, 41, find love on Farmer Wants A Wife.
