Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Shannon Adams is said to pack his things and quit the experiment after confessing to wife Caitlin McConville that he’s still carrying a torch for his ex.
While their TV nuptials went off without a hitch, the picture-perfect duo are reportedly the root of all drama. Colour us shocked!
As reported in episode 253 of the So Dramatic! podcast, sources explained that Shannon and Caitlin are the first couple to exit the experiment after things turned very toxic, very fast.
“Everything was going great for them until a switch flicked in Shannon,” one insider said.
“He became extremely emotional and erratic not long after their wedding.”
Apparently, things “blow up” amid the infamous “ranking challenge”, in which the couples are tasked with rating the other brides and grooms in the experiment.
“In the challenge, he makes some pretty f*cked comments about Caitlin,” the source confessed. “He ranks her second and then moves her down even further.
“Shannon behaves like a total monster.”

A second source dropped the bombshell of the 30-year-old‘s exit, revealing it all goes down in the first week following the honeymoons.
“He takes his ring off and put it on the table and says to Caitlin: ‘I’m so sorry, I can’t do this. I want to go back home.’
Shannon reportedly tells his new bride “that he’s not into her and is still in love with his ex-fiancée” — A.K.A., the mother of his young daughter, Millie.
Sources admitted that “Caitlin was so shocked” because she “didn’t see it coming”.
“Shannon was apologetic because he felt like he took the spot of someone that could have been there for Caitlin.” Well, at least he had some remorse!
The makeup artist was “really hurt” and left wondering why Shannon signed onto the show if he still had feelings for his ex.
We mean, it could be worse… He could have been involved in a cheating scandal!
Is Married at First Sight‘s Shannon Adams back with his ex-fiancée?
While one insider claimed Shannon went “home to his family and they’re back together now”, others aren’t so sure.
A source close to Shannon and his baby mama told host Megan Pustetto that the TV groom is NOT back with his ex.
“He’s been trying to get back with her but I don’t think she wants a bar of him,” they explained. “They’ve been in contact but they’re not back together.
“It’s one-sided on his end at this point. They have been on/off for years so who knows what will happen though.”
Another source then claimed that Shannon was actually asked to LEAVE the experiment.
“Shannon told people when he got off the show that he was asked to leave the first Commitment Ceremony because the experts thought he was being toxic,” they shared.
However, they noted: “I’m not sure if that means just for a break in the night, the Commitment Ceremony, or the whole show.”
