The Bachelors Australia 2023‘s Jed McIntosh has revealed exactly why he went against Alésia Delaney‘s request and proposed to her anyway with a ring supplied by producers.
During the January 29 finale, viewers were left shocked after the drummer proposed to Alésia despite her explicitly telling him multiple times that she didn’t want to get engaged so quickly.
Some fans felt it was a bad omen about the couple’s communication skills, but Jed has since revealed there was more to the proposal than we saw in the final cut.
Speaking on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, Jed admitted that producers would only allow him to give her the “freebie” ring if he got down on one knee.
“I was sh*tting myself because I knew she was going to say ‘no’, but I wanted her to have the ring,” Jed said.
Alésia apparently still wears the jewellery, but not on her actual ring finger.
They’re the only Bachie couple who are still together, but they haven’t put a label on their relationship… so, the title of “fiancée” is DEFINITELY a long way off.
