Fans of The Bachelor Australia have slammed the series for its lack of diversity after the leaked 2023 cast featured a majority of white women.

It’s no secret that the dying franchise has a representation issue; however, Brooke Blurton’s history-making Bachelorette instalment in 2021 gave fans hope as Ten paraded its first Indigenous and bisexual lead.

However, following the announcement of The Bachelors 2023 leading men and So Dramatic!‘s exclusive reveal of their suitors, there’s much left to be desired.

Viewers took to Instagram to share their frustration over the lack of diversity after we shared photos of the contestants online.

“Fifty shades of blonde,” one wrote, while another fan said they were “pretty sure five of those photos are of the same girl”. Spoiler alert: they’re not!

One viewer penned: “Why is the bachelor franchise regressing [sic]? Are they not even pretending they care anymore?”

“It’s like they [Channel 10] want the show to flop,” a subsequent comment read.

“Different shades of beige,” another mused.

Another user asked: “Why they all look the same [sic].”

Whilst another commented: “Clone vibes.”

Fans similarly fumed when Ten unveiled Felix Von HofeThomas Malucelli and Jed McIntosh‘s Bachie status.

What did people say about the appointment of Felix Von Hofe, Thomas Malucelli and Jed McIntosh on The Bachelors 2023?

Upon their appointment, Brooke’s bestie First Nations woman, Gabrielle Ebsworth, took to Instagram to voice her disappointment with the network’s head-scratch-inducing decision.

She wrote: “How are you going to have the most incredible queer, Blak and lovely Bachelorette in [Brooke] then back it up with three boring white guys the year after [sic].

“It’s f*cking embarrassing and just goes to show networks don’t care about diversity but about shock value. It’s a real shame [Channel Ten] turned up so many people of colour for this snooze fest.”
