The Block 2022‘s Dylan Adams and Jenny Heath have given fans an update on WTF is going on with their unsold Gisborne house.

While the Queensland couple has confirmed that their build is still the only one from the 18th season to sell, it hasn’t gone without interest.

Chatting with 9Entertainment in December, Jenny said several buyers were “keen” on the house.

“We did have a few people keen a few weeks ago, but we’ve heard nothing since then,” the 25-year-old explained.

“We’re still in the same position as when we left The Block,” Dylan added.

The couple expressed their disbelief that the 10-acre property hadn’t been snatched up.

“Honestly, it’s crazy that it’s still on the market,” Jenny confessed. “We just don’t know whether we’re going to make nothing, or if we could make $10,000 or $100,000.

“We’ll only know how we feel when it sells.”

The tradie duo’s concerns are valid, particularly when The Block 2022 auction saw a record-breaking win with Omar Slaimankhel and Oz Malik‘s home but also the lowest profit made at auction since 2014 with Tom Calleja and Sarah-Jane Wilson‘s build selling for just $20,000 over reserve.

As such, Dylan is begging any and all interested buyers to give House Four a chance and visit the property IRL.

The home features five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a fire pit, a pool AND a hot tub. The dream!

“You need to see how good it is. It’s the biggest land The Block will ever do, and we finished it to perfection,” Dylan said.

Property experts weigh in on why Dylan and Jenny’s The Block house hasn’t sold

Unfortunately for Dylan and Jenny, property experts think The Block overpromised with “the biggest Block ever”, and failed to tap into what buyers really want.

As reported in episode 237 of the So Dramatic! podcast, a former sales agent who appeared on the show for “four years” said that “untoward” dealings on the hit renovation show jeopardised house sales on auction day.

“The reality is that people pay money for location, not for these ‘basic’ Block properties,” they said.

“If you are purchasing a lifestyle home in the Macedon Ranges, you want a lot more than an average house in an average location.”

The insider continued: “You want premium quality, not a Freedom kitchen. You want privacy and exclusivity. Not a property that has been designed and finished by amateurs.” Ouch!

The industry knowledge comes after another property expert revealed Dylan and Jenny’s Gisborne home would sell for far less than market value.

Despite the odds against them, we have faith that the couple will sell their property… eventually.
