Love Island Australia 2022 fans have pointed out the hilariously dramatic difference between the romantic gestures of Austen Bugeja and Al Perkins.
During the December 12 episode, the fan fave confessed his love (yes, LOVE!) for Claudia Bonifazio during a candlelit bubble bath filled with rose petals.
“Claudia, from the moment that I spoke to you, you made me feel like a child. Happy, jittery and warm. I knew I could see something so special in us,” Austen told her during their shared bath.
“People say when you’re in love, you will know. I never understood that until now. Claudia, I love you and I can’t wait to continue sharing every moment together.”
It felt like we were watching a movie – The Notebook, to be exact. Move over, Noah and Ali!
Meanwhile, the Married at First Sight Australia alum enlisted the help of Hugh Wilcox to cook an omelette and shared his feelings for Jess Losurdo, topping the romantic moment off with an on-brand shoey.
Al even wrote her a poem, which he read out loud: “Dear Jess. When I first met you, I was nothing but impressed but at times our relationship turned into a mess.
“I’m glad I didn’t swap you out for the rest, because you are the best and it wasn’t because of your breasts”, he continued, before whipping out a (thankfully) clean white shoe sitting on ice. Ahhh, so romantic!
Jess appeared smitten with the gesture, explaining it felt very “symbolic”. You do you, girl!
