After weeks of unhinged drama, exes reuniting and f*ckbois galore, we finally know when Love Island Australia 2022‘s finale will hit the small screen.

For the first time ever, the fourth instalment of the hit dating show was filmed ahead of schedule, meaning the winners have *technically* already been crowned.

However, fans and Islanders alike will have to wait until the final episode drops on Tuesday, December 20 at 8:30 pm on both 9Now and 9Go! to find out who takes home the $50,000 in prize money.

In the lead-up to the finale, Love Island is airing a lil’ differently than earlier in the season.

Commencing on December 12, the series will only air from 6 pm on 9Now Monday through Wednesday.

The penultimate episode will then hit screens the following Monday, December 19, at the same time.

If Love Island Australia 2022 Was Pre-Recorded, Why Don’t the Islanders Know Who Wins?

As reported in episode 211 of the So Dramatic! podcast, the 2022 series was pre-recorded for the first time ever due to the availability of the European villa.

This means the Islanders have been bound by contract not to spill any incriminating tea about their time in the villa.

Although, some public sightings may have producers in a tizzy about the fate of some of the contestants’ relationships and non-disclosure agreements…

Given Love Island was filmed ahead of time, there’s been plenty of questions about how the winners will be selected.

In the past, live broadcasts meant fans could vote on which couple would come out on top.

Rest assured, this is still the case!

The final three couples have already filmed a segment of themselves “winning” the show. However, the actual winners’ scene will go to air once all viewer votes are accounted for.

At this rate, we can totally see Claudia Bonifazio and Austen Bugeja being victorious, but they’ve got some stiff competition in Phoebe Spiller and Mitch Eliot.
