Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s first trailer just dropped, and while it sets a more classy tone than past seasons, we just know it’s going to be the most chaotic instalment yet.

The two-minute teaser was unveiled by Nine on December 10, and marks the 10th iteration of Australia’s most infamous dating show.

And holy sh*t, strap yourselves in because we’re in for one hell of a ride when it premieres in the new year!

TBH, it feels like they’ve stretched the budget as far as it can go for this new trailer because its cinematic excellence — coupled with the oodles of actors they’ve cast this season — is on point.

Several unlucky-in-love singles take centre stage in black and white, all looking like they’d rather be anywhere else.

That is, until they meet their baes at the altar and suddenly, their worlds become technicolour. Because, y’know; life doesn’t begin until you’ve met your true love…

Towards the end of the clip, a bride is heard saying: “Love is a beautiful thing, just grab it.” And if that’s the best quote they could pull from the entire season, Lord, help us.

Coupled with a sweeping romantic soundtrack, Nine is certainly setting MAFS 2023 up to be the most put-together season yet — or an episode of Days of Our Lives.

However, we’ve endured enough of this sh*tstorm to never trust the producers behind it. After all, they also threw in a few shots of shocked faces and teary eyes to really hammer home that MAFS is back, baby!

The loved-up couple in the Married at First Sight 2023 trailer isn’t real

While fans may think they’ve got an inside look at one of the couples, Yahoo! Lifestyle confirmed that the loved-up duo aren’t actually part of MAFS 2023 — they’re just actors!

A source told the publication: “Channel Nine doesn’t want to reveal which couples are matched together so to prevent spoilers they hire actors for the kissing shots.”

While we don’t have a name for the handsome groom as of yet, So Dramatic! can exclusively reveal that the stand-in bride is Naomi Sequeira.

The actress is known for co-hosting Disney Channel Australia’s Hanging with Adam and Naomi, as well as appearing in the hit Aussie series Rake.

According to one source, the 27-year-old is “still single and still trying to crack Hollywood”.

This isn’t the first time faux newlyweds have featured in a MAFS trailer, with the 2021 promo featuring real-life married couple and X-Factor Australia finalists Jess and Matt Price

What else do we know about Married at First Sight Australia 2023?

So Dramatic! previously exposed a bunch of Married at First Sight 2023 cast members and their baes. However, don’t get too comfortable because we heard on the grapevine that a whole lotta partner-swapping is on the horizon!

While we’ve previously seen dodgy AF cheating scandals on the series, it looks like the producers behind the juggernaut show are now actively encouraging shady behaviour.

According to the Daily Mail Australia, the relationships on the show “will be tested like never before when a partner-swapping task is introduced”.

“They’ve really upped the ante this year,” a source told the publication. “They made different couples swap partners for three days, and it was hell for all involved.”

While this seems like something that John AikenAlessandra Rampolla and Mel Schilling would not agree to, according to the sneaky source, they gave it the green light!

Participants reportedly had to live with another partner to test their “chemistry” while also trying to “avoid temptation”.

Well then. Bring on Married at First Sight 2023!
