Married at First Sight Australia 2023 is floundering for brand partnerships after a mountain of controversy plagued previous seasons.
However, despite the new instalment promising what could be the best cast yet, Yahoo! Lifestyle has revealed that Channel Nine bosses are struggling to sell advertisements for one of the network’s biggest shows.
According to one source, Nine is missing out on a sh*t-ton of moola because MAFS is “too controversial for many family-friendly brands to be associated with”.
“The ratings may be great, but many big brands don’t want to go near Married At First Sight as it’s too controversial and doesn’t align with their values as a business,” the insider dished.
“The growing and highly publicised trend of past participants turning to porn and sex work is one of the main reasons many family-friendly brands are staying clear.”
However, Nine vehemently denied these claims when So Dramatic! contacted them for comment.
“Nine rejects the utterly baseless claims made by Yahoo! Lifestyle,” a spokesperson for the network said.
The duo have been highly transparent about their careers on the adult content-sharing site thus far.
Jessika, 29, reportedly raked in $200,000 in her best month, and Hayley earns approximately $600k per year.
Since MAFS 2022 wrapped up, six stars from the ninth season have become active on the popular, albeit controversial, site, including Olivia Frazer, her ex Jackson Lonie and Kate Laidlaw.
