A tradie has spilled bulk tea about drama on The Block 2022, and believe us when we say it’s piping f*cking hot!
The 18th season of the hit renovation show came to a dramatic close on November 6 when just two of the properties surpassed the reserve prices at auction.
And, just when we thought the dust had settled on the drama-filled series, a So Dramatic! sleuth slid into the DMs with MORE scandal from the Gisborne site.
As reported in episode 228 of the So Dramatic! podcast, the source knows one of the tradesmen who has been involved with The Block “for years”.
“I was at Bunnings today and bumped into a tradie that Mum had used before who has worked on The Block for years. He said that every single house went way over budget this season.” YIKES!
Now, we know that Sharon Johal and Ankur Dogra were ostracised for their epically poor spending habits, as were Omar Slaimankhel and Oz Malik. However, is EVERYONE blowing the budget?! News to us!
The tradie also revealed what really happened to eventual winners Omar and Oz’s grand plans for a helipad, which he said was “scrapped immediately” after a neighbour’s horse was injured.
“They were going to do it, but when they flew over the properties to bring in the potential buyers… one of the neighbours’ horses got spooked and ran into a fence and injured itself,” the source recalled.
Sources CONFIRM Omar and Oz Were “Cheating” During The Block 2022 Competition
As many fans of The Block are aware, there were constant allegations of cheating and “dodgy” behaviour against House Five during the show.
While the Western Sydney besties quickly disregarded the claims, So Dramatic!‘s source said their tradie mate doubled down on the allegations.
“He said that Omar and Oz were cheating by not doing their own painting, and he implied they were having family and friends come in to do work for them, so they didn’t have to pay them,” they said.
“They paid them in other ways outside the show.”
The source continued: “When they got called out by producers, they claimed that they were being unfairly scrutinised because they are Lebanese.” Hmm, where have we heard that before?
Did The Block 2022‘s Rachel and Ryan Carr STEAL the Vineyard Idea?
Rachel and Ryan Carr‘s backyard game-changer included a fully operational vineyard, which Sharon originally claimed was an idea stolen from her.
However, the abovementioned tradie told our supersleuth that a DIFFERENT tradie entirely came up with the idea.
“They suggested it to Elle [Ferguson] and Joel [Patfull] before they left,” the spy told us. “So it definitely was not Rachel or Ryan’s idea.
What’s more, is that while some fans found Rachel “annoying”, “the tradie said that they had edited her to be that way”.
Okay, noted (for the 13814th time): never trust the edit!
