The Bachelor Australia’s Holly Kingston has revealed that she lived out of a suitcase for two years as a teenager.
The former reality star told Nova’s Separate Bathrooms podcast that while she had a “privileged” childhood, her parents’ separation when she was 13-years-old created a “strange dichotomy” in her life
“My parents had a really tough separation. And with that came a lot of financial stress… I didn’t really speak to my dad for about seven or eight years,” Holly said.
The Bachelor 2021 winner recalled house-sitting and cleaning with her mother, so they could have a roof over their heads while she still attended private school.
“It was kind of this strange dichotomy of growing up and having absolutely everything and being, you know, at a private school with people who have everything,” she said.
Holly then explained that she hid her new living situation from everybody, with her school friends believing she still lived in the same home she grew up in.
“We lived out of our suitcases for two years, and not a single one of my schoolmates or anyone really knew about it,” she told podcast hosts Ali and Cameron Daddo.

The 27-year-old now shares her $1.42 million apartment with fiancé Jimmy Nicholson.
She believed her adolescent experiences helped her remain “strong” while on The Bachelor Australia.
“I think me being able to be really tough and strong on TV is because I was able to do that for a majority of my teenage years,” Holly said.
