As filming for Married at First Sight Australia 2023 gets underway, explosive claims have emerged that an ambulance was called to set because of a drug-related incident.

As reported in episode 209 of the So Dramatic! podcast, an insider revealed that the event occurred at one of the weddings filmed in Byron Bay.

“Two weddings were shot in Byron Bay, and during the filming of one wedding, an ambulance had to be called,” they said, before adding it was “in response to an incident relating to drug use of one of the guests at the wedding.”

According to the So Dramatic! source, filming was halted for an hour to deal with the situation.

When contacted for comment, an Endemol Shine Australia spokesperson confirmed the rumour.

“An ambulance was called when a guest required medical assistance at a recent Married At First Sight wedding,” they said. “Production paused for one hour to focus on the guest’s wellbeing, and they have since made a full recovery”.
