Gogglebox Australia season 16 premiered on August 25 with an emotional tribute to the late Di Kershaw.
The new season’s first episode began with a heartfelt send-off for the beloved Di after Gogglebox stars Lee and Keith gave a meaningful toast in her honour.
“Rest in Peace, Di. Give ’em hell up there too,” Lee said, after explaining she put on blue eyeshadow in Di’s honour.
A video montage showed many of Di and husband Mick Kershaw‘s iconic moments, with plenty of their classic banter.
“From our very first episode, Di always knew how to make her mark,” the narrator said, using clips of her one-liners.
They continued with a clip of Mick telling Di, “behind every woman, there’s a good man,” with Di replying in disgust: “oh god, help us!”.
The video then showed some of Di’s classic quips and reactions, reminding fans why we were so thrilled every time the Kershaw couple-of-50-years came on screen.

It was a bittersweet moment for many fans, who were grateful that Gogglebox Australia offered such an authentic send-off for Di.
The tribute finished with the message: “Thank you, Mick and Di, for saving a spot on your couch for us every week.”
